Welcome to Rhymes and Routes

Hello, welcome to Rhymes and Routes. This is a non-sectarian blog, dedicated to the pursuit of debate on pollitical and cultural matters for every shade of opinion, barring the extreme Right. As the featured Blogmeister, I'd like you to know that I have been active on the Folk scene since 1993. I write lyrics and poems, and have issued 8 albums of my works, and hope to put out album 9 this year. There will be a "Featured Poem" page, showcasing poems by many different poets, not just myself.
   I would like to thank Nev Grundy for his help in setting up this blog. Nev has his own page, as do others who have worked with me creatively in the past. On this blog, I hope you will find interesting views on any number of matters of interest to my fellow contributors.

   At regular intervals, discussion topics will be posted. All shades of opinion ( except fascists) will be welcome to express their views, and anyone criticised will be given the right to reply. We will discuss political AND cultural topics. I ask only one thing of posters - please remember that this is a discussion forum, not an arena for insults. 

   Lastly, I would like to salute the memory of one of the great unsung heroes of British democracy - Major John Cartwright (1740-1824). This heroic man founded the Hampden Clubs in 1812, intended for discussion of matters such as I hope will be discussed here.
